No 12v Power Outlets

Recommended Posts

I too find the lack of a 12v port annoying. I have a Garmin RV GPS and a 360/rear view camera system for my 5th wheel. Both came with 12v ports. I ended up getting the hard wire kit for the Garmin and wiring up a 12v port for the camera using one of those fuse taps mentioned earlier in this thread. On the two internal fuse panels i only found one fuse that was switched power and it was one of the 3 legged ones so i had to get a tap for that off Amazon.....

Patiently awaiting availability of the upfitter switch kit for a Denali.

I know it’s an older post but put together a 7 way trailer plug for charging. I have two Battery Tender Jr’s and one Battery Tender Plus. I only ever use two of them at a time and used the ring lug connections.

I took one of the three alligator clamps that I wasn’t using and cut it below the fuse holder. Used a Hopkins 7 way trailer plug from WW. Put it together and works good with my 2018 1500 with 2 of the maintainers. Don’t have a pic but looks like the one gemarsh posted.

Will work on getting a 12v outlet in the cab whenever my AT4 HD arrives.

Edit: Added pics.

I had a similar setup I used on my 2021 but I was advised not to use it on my 2024. I instead hard wired a NOCO quick connect plug to the battery and just plug it in there.

@64BAwagon

Update: The 7 way trailer plug that I put together to charge my battery was for my 2018 1500, the trailer plug 12v was connected to the main battery, did not have an aux battery. I found out after getting my 2024 AT4HD, the 12v at the trailer plugs are connected to the aux battery. Won't work anyways!
