I want a thread to just argue about a rock and whatever else is on your mind.

I got some more. What about all these people who have a low beam burned out? Instead of fixing it, they just run their brights 24/7 to avoid getting pulled over. Widespread problem driving in the city. And they never get pulled over for blinding everyone with their high beams, of course.

And on the topic of lights…remember when you could just simply replace a burned out bulb? Not the case on most new cars now. A 10 cent bulb gave way to $1200 headlight assemblies. I like my fancy headlights but c’mon. At least give us a little serviceability. Somehow.

The list of ridiculous high cost items in regular passenger trucks are amazing. Those new lights a slight incline coming at you looks like highs. I can’t imagine high beams being worse. The only thing I miss driving my 02 avalanche is blue tooth. That cost me 35$ to fix.

How about the guy that passes you while your at or a bit over the limit and then hits the chutes, stops to let a dozen oncoming cars by then makes a left turn?

Right on red. Yes, but you still have to stop so what's with the horn from the guy behind you?

Here in Atlanta, I stay small, meaning I rarely hit my horn because a lot of people these days are unhinged....and just looking for a reason to use their glock...To me, shut up, keep my hand off the horn and just shake my head....better than me having to whip out my CC and shoot to the death...

I wave at them excitedly and smile large. I figure if they are honking, they must know me. :P

I read a news article a few days ago about a wheel coming loose and crashing through a windshield of a SUV. It went on a wreck a second SUV. It went on to say people were killed, damn. I remember how diligent I was with checking out my lug nuts every morning on my hauling rigs. It was a company policy. Mine. Visiting my mother yesterday my younger brother who lives on the same property stopped by. Much to my surprise it was my old business service truck that lost the wheel. And no one was injured. I haven’t talked to my second brother about it yet. Looking up recalls there happens to be an issue with lug nuts snapping following manufacturers specs on tightening.

I was just telling my wife the other day that it's like the universe just threw an entire deck of cards in the air and none of them have landed on the ground yet to reorganize.  And if they did, they wouldn't be organized correctly.  There is no norm anymore.  Most everything is WTH....Here in the Atlanta area, our vehicle insurance went from 2400 to 4000 yearly, for no reason at all.  That $2400 was for our 21 Explorer, 22 Chevy Custom model and our 2023 Grand Design 2800BH camper.  Our policy updates at the end of every July because we pay yearly.  The only redemption here is if we pay in full for the year we get a $600 discount.  But when you run the numbers that's still a grand increase for the next year.  For the exact same coverage....no tickets....same same everything.  $1000 increase....holy crap.....everyone at work is getting hit too big time, homeowners insurance has doubled.... Fortunately we can eat that extra cost with no worries, but the article I read the other day said 40% of americans are going backwards.... If that article was accurate....holy hell... and God help them and us.

What really is pissing me off these days is General Motors. You can't go by anything they say anymore. Timelines are so screwed up it is pathetic.

And they say that they have introduced something and you never see it happen. Like rcsb trucks reintroduced to North America. Technically yes Mexico is part of North America, but what about Canada and the US. I have never actually seen one in person. And for Canada, I have only actually found two on the internet for sale in Canada.

And the prices of trucks in general is a complete rip off. There is no way in hell a pick-up truck is worth what they are. More that most Cadillac's and Lincolns',  just under what a Corvette is worth. Total BS.

I totally agree.  My son was looking at buying a 5.0 mustang.  He said several years ago they could be had loaded out for 35k.  They are now in the low 50's....he was like WTH??  So he's not going to buy one along with I'm sure many others out there too.  I'm wondering when all of this catch up to the manufacturers.  It can't be too long from now.  But yet, I did say there are no norms now.  So maybe Ford will sell the hell out of them...who knows these days.

I understand the frustration. I’m older and can afford the loaded mustang if I wanted one. The problem is the striped mustang is better than the loaded one when I was your son’s age. It faster handles better has more amenities than the loaded one that was available at that time. I would be tickled with the stripped one today if I wanted one. That’s the same with the Camaro or any vehicle today. I’ll take a 5.0 roll up windows and AC, that’s it. You can’t get one. The last full sized SS GM put out was north of 50K. That was years ago now. My first SS had a big engine 4 speed, posi and was cheap. Today you want a big engine you have to pay for luxury appointments.

We are on the same street here.  Back in 90 I bought the 5.0 LX model, stripped down.  I didn't want the GT with all the flashy trim on it.  I traded it in on a 91 LX 5.0 coupe model... Now that one is the one I will forever regret selling.  The foxbody, the forged internals including the pistons, that 8.8" rear diff that could take most all the abuse you could give it......I will never forgive myself for selling that car.  That thing was amazing.  Here's a pic of it from back in 91

My first was a 67 California Special. My second was an 85 GT. My only new one was a 95 6 cylinder, actually it was my wife’s. I wasn’t a Ford enthusiast. I’m with you on the LX. According to Hot Rod they were lighter and faster than the GT.
