Air Lift fitment on '24s (it works)

Recommended Posts

I recently installed Air Lift's AL57341 5000lb bags and the fitment was fine despite  Air Lift and Firestone not knowing if 2020+ kits would work or not. Also installed the AL25980EZ compressor system. The only location I could find for the compressor was under the passenger side rear door as there was something in the way everywhere else I looked (the power steps didn't help in this regard).  On a negative note, Boston Bin Laden got hold of the compressor air filters and made short work of them (don't let the innocent looks fool you).

Lol Boston bin Laden.

I have the same Daytona 6T jack stands.

that zinc hardware would be rusted to dust in no time up here in the Midwest.

A little feedback after the first tow with the new truck. It's not as stable as our '16 2500 MegaCab was. It has a little lateral wiggle to it that wasn't present with the Ram (I imagine this is due to the pin location being behind the rear axle on the GMC/Chevy short beds). I've never towed on Goodyear tires so some of that could be related to the tires as well. It's not horrible but it is present and feels more like a travel trailer behind you than a 5th wheel.

On the plus side, the lower RPM range (usually 1600-1700 around 70mph) of the diesel makes for a much quieter ride and the suspension soaks up road imperfections amazingly well. It's more like 1/2 ton ride quality over bumpy stuff but still keeps its composure really well. The Ram needed 40-45psi in the air bags for a level ride but it only requires 28psi to level out the GMC with the same trailer which probably helped in the comfort department. Excited to see what some Bilsteins can do to improve it even more.

Fuel consumption was considerably better (about 25%) and the extended range with the larger fuel tank is really nice to have! Even filled up for $3.29/g before we left (cheaper than the mid grade recommended for the 6.4l Hemi).

The trailer TPMS worked great with no disconnects. The trailering light test is nice to have as well; you can start it via a cell phone app and it will sequence the trailer lights so you can check everything solo.
