Weird Camper brake problem...

Electric trailer brakes must have thewheel in motion in order for the brakes to apply (at whatever force they are set at) it works on a lever type effect that then applys outward force to the shoes.

Unfortunately I think your problem goes deeper than settings. My last 3 trailers (2012,2018,2021) all had the rear seals blown out by an overzealous person power greasing the hubs, who knows where and why but the brakes were all coated and 2 required a complete replacement of the brakes. The last 2 trailers were a Grand design Imagine 2600RB and a Reflection 337RLS. If I read everything correctly the next move will be to tear the brakes apart and inspect them. If I was going to Vegas I would put $100 on the grease issue. This is why I hate the EZ lube system.

No amount of gain will overcome greased brakes.

I won't have a chance to try them out the "right" way until this weekend.  If I'm still having problems off the drums come to see if the pads are covered in grease.  Thank you for the tip.

Pg 5 "electric brakes" outlines the operation. The wheel MUST be rotating in order for the shoes to be moved into the drum surface. It isnt much but its not like automotive hydraulic brakes that press the pads of shoes into the friction surface by hydraulic pressure rather than a leverage type force.

One of the drums on my 337 was so badly soaked that Dexter even replaced the entire drum/ hub assy along with the bearings. I figured the retail on the parts was over $600 plus they paid me almost $100 for me doing the work myself.

That's amazing that they at least threw you some money to do it yourself.  I do love that!!

Damn those brakes are a mess! Making me want to tear mine open to check just for the hell of it.

I wish I could just walk out my front door to my camper and do that too.  It's being stored at my aunt and uncles house 2.5 hours from us because we don't have the room here.  But I would totally be doing that too if it was 30ft from me.

Sure sounds like it! I'm sarcastic and a smartass. I have to keep both in check at all times.

My last company's job interview, in front of the whole board and HR, the HR Director asked me "what is one area you can improve upon?" My reply straightfaced - "not one thing, I'm perfect." I then waited 10 seconds and watched faces turning 🤣🤣🤣. I interjected and said, "that, that is what I need to work on. My sarcasm and sense of humor." Thankfully they were all gut-laughing.

I travel a lot and am in capital equipment sales. I love talking to people and it has made my sense of humor much more potent haha.

I've gotten into trouble before because of my sic humor.  I keep it in check now these days at Delta.  I used to be able to say anything....now I can't.  But it's nice to have people around me with the same sic sense of humor.  Without it, I would die...lol...
