Kirkland Signature 0W-20 Full Synthetic Motor Oil

Recommended Posts

Before he mentioned it, I was thinking that the results show near identical characteristics and probably indicate that they are the same oil packaged in different bottles.  I would like to see how they compare to some of the more name brand oils and see if there is a significant difference in detergents, wear, etc., or not.

Great Video.

Yea I think Warren?  They do a lot of the private label I think even Amazon Basics oils.

I do enjoy those Project Farm videos.  He's a fast talker.  Some might use the term motormouth.  Perhaps all that oil cooking contributes to the fluidity of his presentations.

Dexos2 is diesel oil for the 2.8L

DexosD is diesel oil for the 3.0L

The 6.6 Dmax uses the same ccd/CD oils as other large diesesl

DEXOS 1 (gen1, then gen 2 and now gen3) are the gasoline engine ones.

Kirkland pic in the first post appears to be Dexos2 -- which is not spec'd for any engine used in the 1500 or 2500/3500.

Dexos2 would be for the 2.8Lwas used in the Colorado/Canyon twins.

Current list of oils that meet the various Dexos specs can be found at:

Kirkland and ST are both the same, Warren made.

Took my '99 Yukon to 210k miles on it, a '09 Malibu to 220k on it and most recent a '11 Tahoe to 150k with zero oil related problems. All the above sold or traded running fine. I use either one, price determines it. Just stocked up on some Kirkland while it's on sale as I've got 3 3.6 motors to maintain as well as the 6.2.

@repairman54 how often do you change oil? Just curious. You have a good track record.

Dexos2 also covers Euro gas engines and until the DexosR came about, covered Camaro and Corvette 2019-2023.

I just got my 12 individual qts I ordered from Costco. It was drop shipped from Warren ind after being ordered on Monday.  Now I wont have all that stress that surrounds an opened 5 qt sitting on my shelf. 😎
