I had a 67 with the 305 in it. It was an old forestry truck. I loved it for working around the farm. It's a great workhorse engine, not a lot of get up & go, but it didn't seem to drive any differently when it was loaded w/ a cord & a half of firewood. lots of torque. but it got about 10 miles to the gallon.

It was wierd having the spark plugs on top of the head instead of the side. It was also fun explaining to the kid at the parts counter that the 305 wasn't a V8.

I have a 1967 G.M.C. 2500 with the 351 V-6. It's fun explaining to young guys at the parts counter it's not a Ford!

I will bet so. They also made a 305, a 401, a 478 and a 702 that was two 351 blocks cast inline together. It was rated at 630ftlbs at 1600rpm and 275hp and 2400rpm with 7.5 to 1 compression. Imagine that engine with a blower!!! They also had a 637 V8 too with a 5.125" bore and a 3.875" stroke with about the some power and RPM range as the V12. Now that would make a interesting engine for a offroader.
