I have been a ram guy for the past 20 years.  Just ordered a 24 3500 LTZ diesel crew cab.  Looking at the new infotainment system i am curious about the navigation.  Does it require cellular to work?  About 30% of the time i will need it is in the north woods of maine where i usualy throw my phone in the console and dont look at it again till im on my way home cause it doesnt work.  Or do i need to buy a garmin unit in addition to my $85k truck?

Everytime my wife and I fly up there, we gorge ourselves on Amato's ham italians....We can't get them here in the south.  I will eat 2 of them in one sitting, then have 4 more without oil to add later on to eat the next few days.  We miss Amato's so much!!!  LOL....

Yes.  It no longer uses a GM factory nav like 2023 and prior HD.

Some details on it - Chevrolet with the New Google Built-In Feature

For the integrated Google maps to work, you need either a connected services plan via onstar or I think you can tie in your cellphone and use it as a hotspot.

No cell service needed. Navigation database is on board and gps locates you.

Wrong.  The new system requires some form of data, either via onstar or a cell phone hot spot.

I switched to my chevy from a 2021 Ram 3/4 ton diesel. These GM trucks are much higher quality overall.

Wondering if the NAV will work at all if you are in an area with no signal?  (places I would rather be!)

There is an "offline" mode that will function if the connected services can't be reached, but still, you need to have some sort of connected services for the nav to function at all, offline mode included.

In the online cooperative game shell shockers, you take on the role of a combatant engaged in combat with other users in an effort to establish yourself as the ultimate commander.

Wrong.  The new system requires some form of data, either via onstar or a cell phone hot spot.

If I had enough money I would buy a brand new one without worrying about the mechanics.
