Whats your choice on engine oil and a filter??

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

I am reaching 3,000 miles quicker and quicker. I wanna buy the best possible oil for my baby. I just dont know what brand and should I go synthetic or not? Give me some ideas fellows. I was thinking a K&N oil filter. What do ya'll think about all this?

Synthetic? Yes, yes, a thousand times yes. I use Amsoil in everything (I'm not a dealer) I also use either Amsoil or K&N filters. Mobil 1 is very good also, Castrol and the others are a distant third or less in the tests I've read.

Small World Story ... but true. A few months ago I was in getting my eyes checked and noticed the fellow sitting next to me was wearing a RedLine jacket. I like synthetics, so I started talking to him. Turns out he was Tim Kerrigan, the persident of Red Line!! He was a very nice guy and we talked about synthetics quite a bit (big surprise!!). I came away willing to pay a little more than I have been for Mobil 1. I don't notice any difference in how it runs, but I like it anyway.

Red Line for me :loser:

AMSOIL oil and filter.

Mobil 1 oil filters are a good filter. They are built to last longer than the average 3k oil change. K&N oil filter is good also and flows better than Mobil's

I change the oil in a friend of ours car. She doesn't have anyone to help her out with stuff like that so I change it for her. I run Penzoil 5w-30 with Super Tech filters, changing both every 3k for her.

The Super Tech is a good filter.

You can read up on used oil analysis's and all kinds of other great things on there.

I use mobil one...and I think an AC filter....I dunno the Mobil place changes it for me since it's against the rules of the ALMIGHTY apartment gods.

I have the same restriction at our apt. complex too. But they don't seem to care. I've taken out my entire air intake system. All over, a mess. They didn't call me about it. Should be easy to change your oil. Don't even need to jack it up (well, on mine I don't).
