loose / unstable on bumps at high speed. Is this still going on?

It wasn't even off-road when that happened. The dirt wasn't even more an inch tall. It was on a straight, level road, and I have driven on that road many times. Truck was brand-new, tires were at 33 psi, no load.

 

I would not expect ANY vehicle to fishtail. When I first mentioned that issue, I had to deal with ignorant members blindly loyal to Chevrolet. Now that others have experienced the same, it's unacceptable. Nobody should have to install BFGs-KOs to fix this safety issue.

 

Chevrolet should be getting sued on this, I would be surprised if nobody has been killed.

I didn’t install for safety. Flat deterrence, noise and off road requirements. My modification were for performance and personal preference. I was never satisfied with a stock vehicle. If I had your problem I would have solved it like I did with bad performance. I was just relating a possible fix. I remember your original post on this. Yes it was brutal.

True that. But they also want to be and feel safe. When I first got Pepper, a 4,500 lbs. RCSB it was flat dangerous on washboard sections. Most fun was those areas in the lanes to gain Interstate access where overweight, over speed semi's try stopping on a dime bunching the asphalt up into an accordion. First one caught me unaware, and she walked a full lane to the right in front of faster traffic and regardless of my inputs and my inputs are excellent, even today. It was the experience that started the entire suspension makeover.

I remember, and you fixed it. As I’ve done to every truck I’ve owned in some form or another. My current trip vehicle a CRV is about perfect except road noise. I’ve waited two years to be certain I would stick with it. Now I’m going to invest in sound deadening. I’ve as of yet owned a perfect vehicle. I make them as close as I can.

Why I slow down, air down, and in winter tote 720 lbs around so it climbs the snowy icy winding hills here where if you slide off you die.  I do think the F150-350 series trucks are laid out better unloaded for off road ops and less wheel hop. Of course I hate the Ford Dealer and paid about $10,000 less for the Trail Boss Custom with a 2.7 Turbo 4. Overall I am happy and making nearly 4% on that $10,000 I saved.

Right. No perfect ones but some were pretty good. My 98 Honda HX had the best power train of anything I've ever owned. I did punch up the suspension on that too. That one was a bit too soft. Entire 99 Civic SI system from the unibody down, strut braces and KYB adjustable gas shocks, P-zero Pirelli. Cut corners like a Porsche 911, sipped gas like a....well......nothing at the time all motor was getting over 40 mpg. Moped?? LOL That car was a lot of fun to drive slow faaaaast, or just set the cruise control to 75 and run out a tank.  One gas stop to DC, Atlanta or Denver. 

 

I've had the Buick for about 7 or 8 years now??? It's close enough to perfect to leave it pretty much alone although I am looking at a Flex Fuel conversion for her.

My wife’s Genesis is close had it 12 years still looks new. I only drive it on Sunday to church and to put gas in it.

Says that guy that works for BFG trying to make a sale.

 

I remember your posts, they were quite funny from someone not familiar with how a leaf sprung live axle works when driving fast on a rough slick road. Fords, Dodges, even my buddies Tacomas rears get a little happy on certain washboards or rough roads. 

 

As stated before, there is NO SAFETY ISSUE, only a driver issue. I am not even going to get in to the loyal overrated BFG part of the post...

Actually I’m the one who likes BFGkos. I must confess I find something that works for me I stick. I would usually get 90K miles out of them with little road noise. My work was off road. My business wasn’t tires. I never tried anything else didn’t need to. If something else works for you wonderful. I just relayed personal experience.

It's not just a wheel hop, it was the fishtailing that caught me off guard, the road was straight. Wasn't hitting any one of the pedals when it happened. I was going 30 mph. I was pissed. Never again.

Rough slick road? No, it was a road with dirt caked on it from the recent storm. Has nothing to do with getting happy if you read my posts.. it was the fishtailing. I have you set on ignore because you're an idiot.
