Check engine light

Hi.  I have a 2020 5.3 CC 1500 2WD LT.  I bought it new and now has 24,4xx miles.  The truck is stock except for steps and I've had all service at my dealer (except for two oil changes). It's used for around town daily and I've towed my 4500# camper maybe 1,000 miles in 3 years.  I was just in the dealer for the trans stutter and flush.  My three year full warrantee is up in March.

Not too long after Bought it, the check engine light would flash for a few seconds but doesn't stay on. Mainly on the highway and sometimes around town. This still happens when I'm driving every once in a while.  When I had in the dealer the first time in 2020, the dealer said engineering is working on the problem or the issue.  When I had it in a few months ago, the dealer said Chevy is still working on it.  I don't know the code it's throwing.

Is this a common issue?  My warrantee is up soon so am I'm stuck with an unsolved problem?  I don't want to pay for a fix down the road that I've had from the beginning.  I hate to have to just ignore a warning light for the rest of my ownership or I'll have to wonder if the light is trying to tell me something different.   Thanks for your input.  I'll be able to check in tomorrow.

I am not making excuses for GM or any OEM but these new vehicles are basically rolling intranets.  If a communication error cannot be repeated, they cannot fix it.  I have about 30K mile on mine and had several communication errors throw codes, I erased them and they never came back.  Unless it throws a CEL code and it stays then you have a potential problem.  With that said, the dealer stating that engineering is working on it is a crude excuse.  What exactly are they working on if there is no repeatable problem?  Keep your paperwork and if you have a failure after your warrantee expires a good dealer will still honor it should the same issue happen again.  Good luck.
