Dunlop Radial Mud Rover

Recommended Posts

Anyone ever run a set of Dunlops? Tire rack has the Mud Rover's in 255/85-16 for $99, looks like a great way to go on the stock rims while saving up for bigger tires and wheels (more like trying to figure out how big of tire / lift / cut out I wanna eventually go with). They measure 33.6" x 10.8" (a tenth wider than the 265/75). Goodyear now owns Dunlop I believe. They kind of look similar to Goodyear Wrangler MT/R's. Seems like such a tall, narrow, agressive tire would give the truck a unique look, sorta a throwback to the old military 4x4's.

I have heard nothing bad about dunlop. I want to get the Cooper Discovery ST's in that size when I need tires, which will be soon. I really don't need that agressive tread but the ST's are just right and similar to the BF Goodrich A/T.

It would give the truck a different look, no doubt about that.

Hey 1badmax. Did you have to adjust your speedo or is it not that far off? Those tires on your truck kick. How many inches did your cranks of the bars get you?

I have a Diablo Sport Predator and run it at the 40HP setting and also use it for speedo correction. The torsion bars have about 5 cranks. The CV joint angle still appears fine and I think I may take it up another turn or two.

Hey BaddMax, looks great!! Have you done any wheeling with the Mub Rovers yet? How do they perform offroad? I bet the extra clearance under the 11.5" rear axle (I have it too with my 8100) is a big help. That pumpkin rides only about 7" off the ground with the stock donuts!

On the one inch rear blocks were you thinking of the Zero Rates? http://www.offroaddesign.com/catalog/Zero%20Rates.htm

I like how they bolt in and there will be no chance of them getting squished out like some regular blocks can do.

Also check out their U bolt reversal kits (will need new longer U bolts anyways)

I believe I have over 8" of clearance under the rear diff. I haven't done a block in the rear yet. I was looking at some rough country blocks. Slid the truck off the road (ice) into a ditch last night. I had to climb the bank into a field. The tires did great! Well at least climbing the hill. Nothing works well on ice (d**n black ice).
