BedRug XLT bed ma for me with multipro gate  I love it.  I wish it had a separate piece for the folddown portion of the multipro gate. But made some wood trim for that area as a fun project

Interesting that you have a soft roll-up cover over all that you have in the bed. At the risk of hijacking my own thread, may I ask why you chose that over a hard cover of some type?

hell i was thinking of putting a plastic bed liner over my spray in just for protection in construction and throwing my bed mat on top.....rip out the plastic liner in few years and have fresh spray in still in great shape.....i have steering wheel cover and seatcovers just to protect the truck from ME!, lol

You're probably the guy I see with 10 sets of floormats stacked on each other and wonders why the vehicle has slow acceleration!

Simple.  It came with the truck.    And I'm not very worried about someone stealing what's in the bed.  However, I may opt for a hard cover down the road.  Good question!

I've been going back and forth on tonneau covers, which is what prompted my original posts on whether a mat or rug would best suit my needs. After listening to all the opinions here, I finally went to a Line-x truck and trailer shop yesterday and looked at some tonneau and mat/rug options. After seeing the Retrax and Bakflip, I'm leaning toward the Bakflip.

I was originally thinking that a rubber mat would be best, since it would be more impervious to the elements while I looked for a tonneau, and would work under a cover, as well. But, now that I know that all tonneaus leak to some extent, I'm wondering if it would be better to get a bedrug. For example, if water were to drip onto a rubber mat, the water would end up running all over the mat and anything on the mat would get wet to some extent. I'm thinking that when water drips onto a bedrug, the water would go down through the rug instead. And, while the water might wick out a bit around the drip spot, wouldn't the bedrug would be drier overall, as would any items in the bed, because the water would go down under the rug?

One of the guys at the shop showed me his truck which had no cover, and had a bedrug classic installed. When I asked about it blowing around, he said it didn't, he said he just used the stock velcro that came with the kit and it stuck well to the line-x. I pointedly asked if he used the adhesive accelerant and he said no. I was surprised at how lightweight the material is and the foam underlayment doesn't look like it would hold up if you put some heavier items in the bed, but his was 6 months old and looked brand-new. Can any of you with bedrugs who use your bed regulalry attest to the durability of the bedrug?

The owner's truck had a Line-x LXP tonneau on it, and the Bedrug impact XL in it. That's the model that covers the bed, tailgate hinge and tailgate. It looked like the tailgate piece had fallen off the tailgate a long time ago, and the mat looked really beat up. After seeing that, I'm thinking if I go bedrug, I should get the non-rubber carpet version in the classic model and not the XL. Any thoughts on this?

The tonneau looked like new, but when I asked the owner how long the cover had been on the truck, the owner told me it was put on in 2017! That Line-x covering was still glossy! I'm wondering if it's worth it to pay a bit more for the Line-x version, since it appears to last longer and comes with a lifetime warranty. What are your thoughts?
