I hear you CamGTP and thought the same way for years. I recently started using Amsoils OE oil and trans fluid. Also their ATV oil. I have said before the oil made my motors quieter and the ATV shifts better due to the motor oil is used in the trans also.

Member price for the OE oil I use is $7.49 a quart. Well worth the 50 cents more IMO.

Not trying to sway your way just an opinion.

Last time I checked Amsoil had different oils for different change intervals.

Is anyone using this oil in their 5.3 or 6.2 ? I know this oil don’t have the Dexos label on the front but on the back says meet and exceed Dexos specifications, from what I can see online this is one of the best 100% synthetic oil , I like to give it a shot in my 6.2

Highly recommended. It will lower wear and handle these engines fuel dilution and metallurgy issues in valve train better than other lubes.

Note that the additive package in Signature Series exceeds any licensed or chemical box requirement and thats based on infineum additive package for wear reduction.  My last test in a L3B 4 turbo had lowest wear ever with Signature Series 5w30.  0w20 will give same protection.

See the comparison from Black02Silverados  ISO certified oil analysis

Says a person with no experience. I’ve been using Amsoil since the early 80s. My experience is with hundreds of heavy equipment many trucks and cars. My experience includes 1 million miles of heavy duty pulling heavy. With diesel and gas engines. It definitely isn’t one size fits all with all modern engines. That’s where oil analysis fits in. Can some engines go extended? definitely. I do in my Honda, Toyota and avalanche. My 02 avalanche has complete Amsoil protection. If you want to use other brands and change often, so be it. Kool-aid drinker, find a mirror.

Since late 70's for me and regardless of what one thinks about sales pitch its a good chemistry and right now may be cleanest blended product in business since rail cars of raw materials go inside a climate controlled building!  Its very impressive to a former OEM chem engineer.

Big,  I'm trying to reply back to your PM but for some reason I keep getting the circle of frustration.    Do you have an email I can send you the information?

I always liked AMSOIL. I have used it in the past when I changed my own oil. I no longer change my own oil, so I'm at the mercy of the OEM GM dealer oil. I wish AMSOIL had oil change places like Valvoline/Castrol/Mobile1 does. I would be a lifetime customer.

You could buy it from Nick, then have a local oil changer do the work. 👍

Well, see, that's just it. I don't want to have to think about it, buy it, stock it, and store it, for 5 vehicles. Now, if Nick would just open an Amsoil Express Lube, I would be a loyal customer.

Lubes N Greases magazine once stated "that there is no financial incentive to make an oil any better than minimum specifications". If it weren't for AMSOIL where would the Industry be today?

I thought about opening an express lube.  Man buying one available or building one is expensive!!!!!
