Erratic Infotainment System 2018 GMC Canyon

WillD605

Question

I have a 2018 GMC Canyon 4WD SLE Crew Cab with short box which includes the GM audio/infotainment system with the 8" color touch screen. I had no issues with the infotainment system for the first several years but in the last 6 months the infotainment system has been erratic and annoying. When driving down the road with the radio on sometimes the radio changes stations, sometimes it changes from FM to AM, sometimes the system seems to try to add "saved or favorite" stations, the 8" display seems to fill with useless information making it impossible to read what radio station is currently playing, sometimes the "touch" function on the touch screen does not work, occasionally I get "popping" noises coming through the speakers, and annoyingly the small display screen in the instrument cluster changes from my usual information/digital speedometer reading to replicate or show what is displayed on the 8" touch screen. If you turn off/power down the radio, everything seems to function normally including the small display screen in the instrument cluster stays on the mode/view selected. Does anyone know if this is a common problem and if so, what is the typical "fix" if one has been identified?
