Rear sliding window instal

Recommended Posts

Should leave that to  professional installers.   Its set in Urethane (2-part); the existing glass has to be cut out in a way to leave a base for the replacement.   Not a DIY job in IMO.

My '18 Duramax was broken into and they broke the rear sliding center glass. I purchased a replacement glass and for the life of me, I cannot figure out how to get it in. Been looking everywhere with no luck. Can someone help me out?

Help me understand. Did you buy the complete read glass asy? or just the sliding center glass?

Must have been real dumb lil tiny thieves...

Usually they just unscrew the antenna, pry the top of the door a bit and hit the power lock button, zero damage or noise.

But alas, sorry the center section glass cannot be replaced by itself.

I just purchased the center piece.

Rear Sliding Window Replacement (Center Glass)

Procedure

Open the rear sliding window approximately 3.5 in (89 mm).

From the passenger side, pull down and slide the rear sliding window center stop from between the frame and sliding window.  Note: Ensure the center stop is installed the same way as removed.

The 2 grooved side should face forward towards the front of the vehicle.

Remove the window from the upper frame by pushing upward on the window, pulling outward and down on the bottom of the window.

Note: Ensure proper operation of the rear sliding window.

The window stop is a long strip at the top on the inside of the truck.  Goes from the end of the window passenger side and stops at the driver's side end of the center window.

What P/N is the center sliding glass? Where did you buy it? How much? You never know when one might need this info
