steve8
One more try. I'm between a Denali with or without the reserve package. With reserve gets you the standard 22" wheels which I like, with all season tires that I also like. Without gets you 20" wheels that I don't like as much, and a t tires which I really don't want. My concerns, which I think are probably not a big deal would be weight, handling effect if any, etc. Or any other cons people may have. Thx for the input. crj19
Again, If you do not want AT tires go with theses: Michelin Defender LTX M/S | 275/50R22 (tirerack.com) They weigh 38LBS.
TxSilver
I bought a refreshed High Country with 22" ealier this year and I will not do that again. Ride is okay with good pavement, but its not as smooth as my previous truck (20"). Another thing is to consider is braking distance. I feel it has increased as well as having to apply more pressure when braking. Don't get me wrong, 22" wheels look great but the trade off is not there for me. Will probably look at swapping to 20" whenever I need new tires.

I'm disappointed that non reserve Denali comes with 20" A T, and reserve comes with 22" all season. What I'd like is 20" all season. Was also wondering if the Denali suspension overcomes some of the issue of going with a 22" wheel.

For what its worth, I was in the same dilemma as you on my 2023 Denali order I ended up choosing the Technology Package + power steps instead of the Reserve package. I didn't want the sunroof and I didn't want the 22" wheels. The 20's seem more practical to me. My gut also said they would ride better (many years driving BMW cars.) I just picked up the truck and am very pleased with the ride and the lack of road noise with the AT tires. They are Goodyear Wrangler. No idea how well they will wear, but they are quiet like a street tire. Looks are subjective and we can't answer that for you. But I would have no hesitation ordering the 20's again for real world use.
Z45
I have a 2021 Denali Ultimate (now called Reserve) and I had a 2017 that was the same thing. No problem with the 22 inches for me and I live in Michigan were its winter from Nov-Apr. I would never buy a Denali without 22's. IMO its rides very well, I drove an AT4 and it road like a buck-board compared to my truck. I also got optional gloss black wheels , were on the truck when I bought it from stock. Note::I had the wheel arch molding replaced with painted ones to match the truck (after this pic was taken). Looks so much better than the flat black. TxTruckMan
My last truck was a Denali with 22’s. The ride was great. I had no complaints. You will barely notice a difference switching to 20’s. The weight is negligible for ride. Only the sidewall makes any difference. The 22’s will handle better while the 20’s will have a very slightly better ride. 22’s look MUCH better. Just watch out for curbs.
Naughty Donkey Performance
22's look better and handle better, I got mine as take offs from a Denali brand new and I run my factory 20's in the late fall through the winter. Neglible ride difference IMO and quicker steering response. 500 ish #'s in load hauling capacity.
smit303
I have the 22's on my Denali. They feel great. I've had 20's on previous Sierra's. I can't feel any noticeable difference. As someone said, Watch out for the curbs.
steve8
Just saw this old thread that I started. FWIW, I got the Denali with reserve/22" wheels and I'm very happy with it. Thx for the responses.
BigBadSierra
I had 22 on my 2016 GMC and hit something on the road and damaged two wheels and rims. Over $3K just to replace two. Only get 20's on my trucks since. Way more options even buying used OEM then finding 22's Just my 2 cents.
