Amperage Capacity of Trailer Connector Power?

Recommended Posts

I'm in need of an "always on" power source to run my Dometic 55qt fridge.  So, I'm planning on tapping the trailer "house" 12v circuit, which is always on.  Does anyone know the current rating of this circuit?

It's for charging a camper battery while driving so I'm sure it's at least 20 amps or more. I know I put a 7-round plug on my portable air compressor and it works fine. From dometic's website, that fridge draws 50 watts, that's a little over 4 amps @ 12v. The charging lug in the 7 way trailer connector should easily handle that.
