02 Silverado to much fuel pressure

Hello, I have a 2002 Silverado 2500hd 6.0 im currently having a issue with fuel pressure. It’s just way to high im getting 80psi at the fuel rail. I replaced the regulator with the same results anything would help thank you.

Either your gauge is off or the pump is doing double time to make that much pressure.

 

That is basically all you are left with, if the regulator is fine then the fuel pump is where to look next.

I double checked my gauge with my other Silverado it read correctly

Also replaced the pump under warranty still same issue

Tough to say, new regulator is bunk? Not enough return fuel flow?

Was thinking maybe bad grounds or something is wrong with the fuel line

Try a different brand of fuel pump, possibly a whole batch defective or boxed wrong, double check the part #. It is amazing how many different FPs are listed for the same truck on parts stores sites. How does it affect the way it runs?

Double check the return line tor kinks or any restriction, But I don't think that would cause that much excess pressure so betting it's the pump. Keep us posted on what you find

I’m getting gas Thru the return its

throwing a check engine light p0172 p0175

Yes , but is it flowing at full volume? with that much pressure it should be squirting out the return at very high volume. If no obvious damage to the return line it has to be the pump, you said you warranteed the pump, how long was the first 1 in before you realized it had too much pressure or thru codes? I only use OEM pumps as it's too big a job to do twice when you get a bad 1. Many times they ask for the code that's on a sticker attached to the fuel lines above the tank to insure it's the correct pump. The flex lines at the rear of the engine is the place to inspect for any damage. Did you drop the tank or lift the bed to change the pumps?

Just a remote possibility-- what is the system voltage? engine running

The old pump was in there for a year or so with the light on. I don’t see a sticker on the fuel line also I lifted the bed off
