I’ve got a 2017 Chevy 1500 with 127k on it with the 6 speed auto, I just bought it and not sure on past maintenance does this look burnt, if not I was going to drop the pan, change the filter and refill the remaining amount needed.

Looks dirty for sure.  How does it smell?  Burnt would look black more than that dark dirty brown color and would give a rather strong odor.

It didn’t smell burnt, the smell was rather light, I’m not sure how to describe it, did not smell like new atf though.
