I am patiently and eagerly waiting for this recession to it. I am putting money away each month. Hopefully by next April-sh we are in full swing and I am going to search the U.S for a new Camaro Convertible. I am torn between the 2SS or a ZL1.  Idk if the supercharger is worth $25k.  When I can mod the 6.2L with cam, heads, exhaust, and e85 tune for about $12k and have an all naturally aspirated beast and still have $12k in bank.  But man do I love that front end of the ZL1.

My wife and I bought our first house during the Carter administration at 13 percent interest. That experience in our early 20s made us frugal. We were lucky to experience that at a young age. Buying a home in a non HOA area with low taxes and having a rent house. Between our SS and a rent house we don’t touch our Ira. That will probably fund our kids retirement along with our property. I retired at 58 by selling my share of the family business and getting paid until 65. All this on an average salary. Here’s the kicker. I’ve owned at least one of every lettered or number car from Detroit. Mostly used, some needed work. Even the mighty Chevelle, California mustang, 442, Buick GS, Javelin SST MD special, several SSs, Road Runner, T type, GTS, that doesn’t count trucks. I’m a certified KARNUT. I’ve been blessed. And I married my high school sweetheart.😎

I was  with a friend who was truck shopping Sat.  He is looking for a 4wd CC Silverado or GMC with a 5.3L.  They had 15 with 2.7L in or on the way,  Said those are the ones that are coming through no problem. Had 2 with 5.3L but are a TB and AT4, which he does not want as they are close to $65K..  Most of the 2.7L trucks are under $50k.  Dealer will discount the 2.7L trucks a $1,000 but the 5.3 (2), 6.2L (1) and 3.0L (2) are msrp.  I heard the sales manager remark, we can get all the truck we want as long as its the 2.7L engine.

I used to at anytime, especially this time of the year go online and find discounts. It didn’t matter the brand. My comfort zone was at least 10K off. The MSRP didn’t matter. I was thinking out the trade in. It well documented trucks are cash cows for any manufacturer. As well as SUVs. Ford has it down with the maverick. At those prices they will develop a new crop of buyers. As long as they are reliable.
