Glitching windshield wipers

Yesterday morning was a bit chilly so I started the truck up via the Iphone app. When I left out the door the truck was still running (the 15 minutes hadn't gone by yet). I got in, foot on brake and pressed the start button. It was raining and the windshield wipers immediately came on due to the rain sensor, which is normal (the wipers were in off position by the way). But once they made that first pass, they got stuck straight up at their highest position. So I turned them on to try to bring them back down, but they would only work at one speed (about a medium speed) no matter what speed setting I chose. Then when I turned them off, they would stop at whatever random position they were in at the time of turning them off as apposed to returning to their home position at the bottom of the windshield. From there, the only way to bring them back to their home position was to "limp" them by repeatedly hitting the single wipe toggle. So I turned the truck off, started it back up, and same thing. I turned it off again, got out, locked it, unlocked it, started it up and same thing. I even tried starting it up with the app again to see if some how that was what caused it (which could still possibly be what did) but didn't fix it. And from then, every time I'd restart the truck they would come on automatically at that medium speed even though they were turned off. Again, it was raining so the rain sensor could be the reason for that. But still couldn't adjust the speed and had to do the same procedure that I mentioned previously to stop them at their home position.

Now fast forward to today (a sunny day), and every time I start the truck, the wipers still come on even though they're set to off and they keep going until I stop them by making some sort of input to the wiper stock. And like yesterday, have to repeat the limp procedure to bring them down. What a bizarre glitch. I was going to disconnect the battery to see if that does anything but came home after dark yesterday and today. This might be a crazy question, but has anyone experienced this before, or have any suggestions that would avoid a trip to the dealer? Just purchased the truck new one month ago.

EDIT: So I found out that these trucks don't even have rain sensing wipers. Therefore the wipers coming on even on that rainy day shouldn't have happened either.
