Hesitation when accelerating

Recommended Posts

I noticed my ‘22 2500HD has a hesitation in the engine when you’re accelerating.  When you pull to pass a vehicle and you’re not on it hard but giving more gas and holding steady you can feel a slight hesitation in the engine.

I had it in to get the front shock recall done so I asked them to look into it.  Dealer came back and said the tech noted what I was talking about but that was normal for the gas engine in these big trucks?  I find that hard to believe.  Anyone else notice this with theirs?

I bet a pedal commander would make it "feel" a lot better. That's the first mod I did to mine, and it feels 100x better now in sport mode +2 or+3.

It’s not a pedal response issue, I’m holding the pedal steady and you can feel a hesitation in the engine or at least that’s what it feels like.  Very slight but there.

Try not mashing the pedal to the floor, just part way down for quick acceleration. Then push further down as your speed increases. That seems to work better for me when I get on it. I imagine it has to with the torque sensing and adjustable timing on this engine.

Thanks for the reply but I’m in Canada and GM up here doesn’t work that hard towards customer service.   Don’t think you can help me out unfortunately
