Love my truck but hate that the tailgate cap is plastic. Won’t take long to completely destroy the inner top edge just taking simple things in and out like camping gear. Does anyone make a metal cover or anything to put over this to preserve it?

I doubt it, but I suppose it is possible there is an after market piece... You could always just have a reputable sheet metal fab place bend a 90 degree piece of stainless and apply it with double stick foam tape like they use for badges, etc.

 

Personally I like the plastic idea myself as it keeps the metal tailgate from getting scratched and rusting!
