Front shock recall

Recommended Posts

I believe this is only for 2022 trucks that had the F60 option - heavy front/ camper.  These trucks were built with cab chassis front shocks vs the correct front shock for that configuration.   If your truck had Z71 and F60, the front shocks would be black and rear shocks would be red/white.

This is not a safety issue but more of a customer satisfaction service fix.  The front shock travels are the same but, the appearance and forces in the shock could be different.

Hi MTU,

Separate shock question related to F60:

I have a 2021 GMC 3500hd cclb srw SLT I ordered with camper springs. After I drove the truck for a year, I ended up deciding to replace the 5600lb camper springs with the standard 5200lb springs for ride reasons. I’m wondering if the F60 option on my truck means I have different shocks than I would have received if I had not ordered F60.

Thanks

In general, F60 does not drive an unique front shock.  Front shocks are released by FGAWR groupings.  4400 to 4800 gets one, 5200 to 6000 gets one.
