Shock length for 8” drop

Hello ya’ll! I have a 2017 RCz My truck is on a flip kit and a 2” drop shackle but since idk what brand flip kit it is, not sure if its 6 or 7 inches thats why i asked for both. I’m sure people on here have done the measurements so I wanted to put it out there. Can’t really get under the truck to measure now due to an injury so hopefully i can get some lengths so i can just order some. 
Also, does anyone know when its recommended to do a shock relocation?! At what drop??

Most, if not all, flip kits are six inches. A shock relocation can be done at a six inch drop. Also seven plus inches would be recommended to do a shock relocation. 

 

Shock extenders are good for 5-7" drops with drop shocks.

Shock relocation isn't really needed unless you want it. The geometry never changes as you go lower.

however the axle gets closer to the frame, and shock bodies only go down to a certain length.

Right but that is just when you get new shocks.

I've read 94-96 Impala SS shocks will do the trick. Haven't tried it myself but heard they work.
