2022 Tow Hook Removal

Has anyone removed the tow hooks from their 2022 refresh yet? I found a pair of red ones that I'm going to pick up. Just curious if it requires removing the bumper completely to get them off.

To be honest you could probably remove or unbolt some of the underbody plastics and unbolt them without removing the bumper

The accessories install sheet shows the bumper does not have to be removed to replace the tow hooks.

 

Make sure the ones you are getting are for the refresh, they changed the design of the mounts so the 19-22 ones won't work.

If you can reach the bolts without removing the bumper, then there is no real reason to remove the bumper.  I pulled mine when installing the winch mount but I don't remember whether or not I could have done it without removing the bumper.

I personally don't like the red hooks. I find they stick out and too much and looks like 2 zits on a models face. I prefer the black subdued look. It looks cleaner. Just me but it's whatever you like.

After looking at the posted instructions and under my truck, the bumper will have to come off because of the extra cooling the 3.0 has.

That's right bud. I like chrome maybe he doesn't. I hate black wheels maybe you don't.  I'm giving my opinion and that's what a forum is for. If we all had the same truck, liked the same wheels, colors etc. then there'd be no need forum. It's all what one likes. It's all good brother.

But no one asked for your opinion and what you like. All the OP asked was how do I change it, not if you or anyone else likes it. While I am with you and not a fan of the trend, I still don't throw my thoughts and beliefs in areas it isn't asked for and stick to the subject. Some people like big wheels on a truck, others don't; see how that works?
