Gas Prices

Down to $4.49 for 87 octane and $4.34 for 88 octane. Still cheaper if you leave where I live and drive 10-12 miles away, like 20-40 cents cheaper. No idea what E85 is right now, but probably still $2.99 like before lol.

The speedway and others discount if you use a card as much as 10c a gal over cash, it used to be the other way around and a lot of the independants stiil charge more if you pay with plastic. they got me on the way home from  vakay today, after seeing prices from $4.75- $5.09 in the tourist areas I saw $4.40 near Portsmouth NH but after I paid cash I saw that that was the card price and cash price was $4.46.

Thing I have a hard time getting my head around is the spread in price for the same product in the same general area. We have UR gas as cheap as $4.15 and within blocks $5.

It's kind of like walking into the kitchen and finding your four year old grandson with his hand in the cookie jar and looking at you saying "I'm not stealing cookies....If mom is going to leave them unattended...." 😬

Tanker delivery. When prices we’re going up rapidly I saw gas stations across the street from each other with vastly different prices. Going for my morning walks I’d pass a station at one price. On my return a tanker would be delivering fuel. And the prices would be changed. Most of the the stations around me are independent. Mark ups are small. It’s got to be stressful keeping up.

here in the northeast we don't have all those different  octane grades. just 87,89,91 all 10% ethanol, non ethanol is available but hard to find. they"oxygenate" the gas in the summer whatever that does

I'm seeing RU from $3.999 / gallon to about $4.199 / gallon.  I took a drive this weekend in my inexpensive runabout to my sister's house.  300 miles total trip.  Primary interstate run is between Chattanooga and Atlanta.  Me and all 3 sons our luggage and blasting the AC.

$4 a gallon gas is nothing for the rich / successful folk around here.  I kept to ~the speed limits and got just a skosh under 41 mpg.  There were plenty of lifted F250 Powerjokes, and soccer moms all alone in their QX80s and Audi Q7s blowing by me on  the interstate.

Everybody down here in the dirty south likes to make a big fuss about fuel costs, but get behind the wheel and put their foot to the floor from one traffic light to the next one ahead that can be seen red from a half mile back.  I totally get the practicality of a 12 to 18 mpg pickup truck.  Heck, I have 2.  But even if I'm not driving Ms. Daisy, I'm still driving conservatively.  Yet the people around me drive like fuel is free.  Maybe it is ... to them, I dunno.  Most people work in this area, and it's their money, so more power to 'em.

4.69 but Jason/7milesout is spot on.  In general middle Americans are spoiled, cry about everything but being boiled in a pot slowly and happy to be in warm water.

Saw where two American volunteers killed in Ukraine were fighting for real freedom to exist. 4 hung in Myanmar fighting authoritarian military.

Want lower energy prices here do smart stuff like stopping hitler juniors world wide because it plays here.
