Gas Prices

I’ve read recently that since the pipeline got stopped it singled the oil executives to pull back on major investments. One of the those was refinery’s. Retrofits and maintenance is expensive. It like the whip and buggy’s makers when the automobile became popular. Electric vehicles are the answer, right? Who needs refinery’s? This is by design.

$120.00, $118.96, and $100.37 for my last 3 tanks, granted driving a little more than usual.

Makes me wonder what the values will be on our trucks, if we are "forced" to convert to EV? Will lots even want them? Or will they come up with a plan that "requires" us to scrap all of them?

Pretty soon they’ll realize, damn we need more electric plants. They don’t like nukes so it’ll be fossil fuel powered plants. There’re starting to realize that renewables aren’t up to the task. I’m outfitting a generator as we speak. Getting ready for rolling blackouts.

Think about that a minute.... The shear scope of that is a problem to itself. Take a breath brother

Imagine paying $70 K for a new truck and then getting a card in the mail the next day that says you must deliver it to the nearest scrap yard. Then going back to the dealer looking for  you money back OR shelling out another $70 K for an EV. Imagine Big Oil saying...yea....we're good with that. Outlaw our business. You shut off our gasoline we shut off  you heating oil and jet fuel.

Prices will come down when people, the consumer says, I've had enough. The public JUST experienced their power during the lock down. Cheapest gas in decades. Now do it willingly and you put a dent in both that price and the environmental issues. No one needs to give up driving. Just think about the miles you use wisely.

I believe, and have long advocated,  that a good business plan would be to develop a "fast food"  model of vehicle conversions.  There are companies that currently exist that can convert our trucks to Hybrid electric operation.  Why not some type of McElectric conversions??  This may sound far fetched but the ability to convert gas powered vehicles to electric exists.  I keep hoping we're "5 minutes away"  from saving millions of vehicles going to the scrap heap!

A friend of mine does "forfeited asset collection" and claims he could already work 36 hour days as it is, give it another month.

Seems to me there would be too many compromises. All the major production EVs are designed from the ground up as an EV to make the best use of available space. Even the best conversions would suffer from poor range and would be incredibly expensive. And then of course…what happens to the perfectly good ICE driveline they take out? Scrap heap anyway. We’re being forced into what feels good, not what makes any sense for the consumer or the environment.

If they were to stop producing fuel (or ammo) it's gone by default.

The Rat's, however are in charge of the CHEESE. Are ya thinking Winchester will stop making ammo but keep making guns? Are ya thinking Royal Dutch Shell will just say...oh well....and close up shop? 😬
