Dropping Sierra AT4 Premium Package from order

Recommended Posts

I am about to order an AT4 Sierra and after reading the rear window leaking thread, I am considering dropping this package and just adding the Sierra Safety Plus Package and the Technology Package. It seems I will only be missing the rear sliding window, adapter cruise control, universal remote and the side steps. I plan on replacing the side steps with electric ones any way so they would just be removed. Would I be missing anything else worth while? Would I regret dropping this package?

I had a '19 RST with slider and it never leaked but have read of those that did. I ordered my '22 refresh LTZ without the slider to not chance it. My luck this one would leak. Besides, I never use the slider.

Seems that dropping the whole package because there is a chance that the rear slider leaks is a bit drastic. Especially with such a useful feature as the slider.

There are hundreds of things that could go wrong with your truck.  If you run away from all of them you'll be left with no truck at all.  Order what you want and don't worry about it.  That's what the warranty is for.  Most trucks don't have that problem - mine included.  It's just the vocal few that are getting attention.  I skip all of those problem threads because they aren't very useful to most people unless you have a problem that cannot be resolved.

True but for me, I don't need a slider snd never used it. I don't need the other things in the convenience II package. Question is, does he need and use a slider? He already said he didn't want those steps.

FWIW, I've had two T1s with the power sliding rear window. Neither has leaked (and I check, often). I'd miss having adaptive cruise control, personally; but if that's something you don't care about, then you might as well eliminate a potential problem by forgoing the slider.

I love my rear sliding window.  I use it all the time.  I'll crack open my sunroof and my rear window for airflow without getting blown away like when I open my window.  I use adaptive cruise control all the time too.  It is very handy on the interstate.  I guess if you didn't have a garage door opener, then the universal remote wouldn't be a big deal, but if you do, a separate garage door remote is one less thing you have to keep in the truck.
