Air Filter Replacement and Pedal commander, 6.6 diesel only

Recommended Posts

21 Silvy 2500 diesel.  Obviously the pump isnt to friendly right now at $6 a gallon couple questions for the 2020-22 diesel owners.

Been a year with 15k miles,  truck says air filter has 75% life left which I have a hard time believing.    So time to replace.  I have done the K&N drop in before have had good luck with gaining 1-2mpg on past vehicles and a few others nothing.  Any real world experience with the drop in filters from K&N on the 2020-22 diesel motors.

Second is I have a pedal commander for the truck, and first off the truck is totally different with that thing on it, wow.  Only thing is I had the truck at the dealer 6 months ago so took it off and never got around to putting it back on.  Anybody have any positive experiences with the pedal commander and increasing mpg

Depending on your climate and roads you travel, getting an air filter to last 35-50k miles isn't that hard to do. If K&N filters were really that good, why wouldn't the OEM's just use them to begin it. Usually they are worse because vehicles with MAF sensors hate oiled filters.

Like I said i have actually achieved 2mpg in the past.  Sometimes its a matter of buying the drop in once for $40 and not having to buy the paper filter over and over again for 20-30 bucks.  Either way not sold on them and I agree with you.
