Speed Limit indicator problem

Recommended Posts

I recently noticed the speed limit indicator is not accurate. On highways posted at 60 mph, the indicator shows the limit to be 55 mph.

These are on several different highways that I have traveled for years. It has always showed 60 mph in the past.

I checked for software updates but there were none.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Any suggestions?

Thanks

May be something you just have to live with unless you want to upgrade like the post above. I believe it's $150-200 for that. I have the same issue but it's because of the state DOT. We have a state hwy that went from 2 to 4 lanes with a center median. The speed was 55 but lowered to 45 during construction. Now that the construction is over it's still at 45 and when asked I the DOT on their FB page. They said there is no plans to change it back. Although people run 65 on it now. My truck still shows it as 55 though.

I have a 2024 GMC at4 The speed limit sign display shows limit on 25mph city streets as 55 mph zone, the highway has posted speed of 55mph and 65mph the sign in truck says 45mph more errors to numorous to mention. tried my dealer onstar gm cust service all I get is it's a work in progress. I don't understand as my 2017 yukon denali is accurate. and my 2018 sierra 3500 HD is accurate. does anyone have any input? I have the premium plus package in the truck.

It's based on the internal navigation software version. Notoriously, already out of date by the time the truck is sold ALWAYS. Do yourself a favor and disable this feature in the menus, and just pay attention to the real world road conditions and judge your speed based on actual posted speed signs.

My phone navigation shows the speed limit and traffic alerts if that is important to you. Even if I know the area I use it for traffic information and speed traps. I don’t use my vehicle navigation because they want money.

On the 2022.5+ 1500 and 2024+ 2500/3500 this is fed by the cached Google Maps download. You'll probably notice when it's downloading the offline maps you can go into the settings and expire the maps and pull a new copy and hopefully its corrected.

My 2024 AT4 has gotten stuck twice showing a 65mph speed limit no matter the correct posted speed limit. Couldn’t find a fix so I disconnected my battery, which corrected it for a couple of days, but it’s back locked on 65 Mph.
