I was wondering if anyone has done a front and rear end gear swap on a 2007 silverado 1500? I got a quote from a shop for $2200 but that seems high especially since I already have the gears and install kits. The shop has good reviews and all so I thought I would see if anyone else paid somewhere similar to that?  Thinking of looking around.

I know of a kid in Florida who had both axles done on a GMT900 and paid about $3500 out the door.

Shop time is 3 hours to R&R the front ring and pinion and you can easily add a couple more hours for side or pinion bearings.

Shop time for the rear axle is 1 to 3 hours.

$2,200 is a steal around here for both axles. Most places would be atleast $3,000 or more. But I've never asked about straight labor only. They mark up the parts to make money so that's why a $3,500 bill isn't out of the question when it comes to that.

Also most people are swapping in a $400-500 tru-trac rear diff to get rid of the G80 locker that will die if you abuse the truck a lot.

Don't forget about the tune cost unless you already have a tuner.
