Whining noise low speed only

Recommended Posts

I have a 2018 Silverado 4WD. Lately I've been noticing after turning around in my drive or backing up a trailer and cutting my tires hard to the left or right that when I start to pull forward there is a whining/grinding sound coming from the left front wheel. I assume it's probably a wheel bearing but I have no vibration or noise after a few seconds of driving off at low speed. It lasts for 4 or 5 tire rotations and then goes away.  And I've never heard the noise while traveling down the highway. Any ideas of where to start? It does seem to be more common if I cut my tires to the right.

Could the truck possibly be in AUTO 4WD, or even in 4HI? Switched there by accident?
