Any Silverado 1500s with the 5.3L or 6.2L manufactured in 2022 had lifter issues?

You know the tonawanda plant has been assembling engines for GM since 1938, right?  Politics aside, as much as i really hate liberals, that does not mean politics involve issues with engines due to an issue involving part sourcing.   They assemble the engines with the parts they are provided.  The issue has been the parts they have been sourced.  If there was an issue with the liberals assembling our engines for us, it would have popped up since 1938 already.  But here i am talking to a wall again.  Can only provide so many facts before you go "but muh dodge" when they have the same lifter issue.

And you took my statement seriously 😂🤦🏻‍♂️ …. Democrats are **cking everything up tho … 😏

and by the way dodge issue is nowhere near as bad a GM , I’m serious about this statement. No 5.7 or 6.4 hemi blow up with 500 miles on the clock.

5.7 and 6.4 hemi's have MDS similar to AFM/DFM and they get their lifters from the same supplier as GM and the hemi's have the same failure rate as GM does.   If you search the forums its obvious if you want to trust the internet.

Dude I live and bread cars , I’m more informed that you think believe me. I don’t hate or troll I love all American 3 , i have at4 on order, i wish GM engine was as good as the old 5.7 , but nowadays you like it or not GM have a massive problem with those engines, there is a nasty little rumor that failure rate is bigger than 10% that is big.

Did you again ignore what i said?  Want it in all caps so your 70 year old brain can comprehend?  DODGE GETS THE SAME LIFTERS AS GM FROM THE SAME SUPPLIER FOR THE 5.7 AND 6.4 HEMI'S AND ENCOUNTER THE SAME FAILURE RATE.  If you lived and breathed cars, you wouldnt be as ignorant and would actually understand how assembly and engineering of these engines works and where they source parts from.  Your boomer brain is just incoherent of understanding, its ok, a honda civic will finally reach 60 mph before you understand. :)

So if you had endless funds and bought a new Silverado 1500 with the 6.2 and had a shop remove the DOD lifters with the locking pins and replace them with normal lifters and a cam without the special oiler lobe, would the engine perform normally and last like they used to?

The 22 models are definitely still having major issues. I have a 22 GMC AT4 6.2. It is currently at the dealership torn apart. Bad lifters. Truck only has 4300 miles on it. They’ve had it for 2 weeks. Also, got the truck in February and half it’s chips we’re not installed due to the chip shortage. They said they’d be in by April…nope. However..the ones coming out of the factory are fully chipped.

Its just a bad design.  The failure rate is acceptable to them as building quality is no more of a concern.  Transitioning to all electric is the business model now.  After 5 yrs or 70,000 miles it won't be their problem anymore.

I bought a 2022 silverado RST Z71 crew cab in August 2022. At 2000 miles , when leaving for work in the morning, truck would loose power, not downshift, check  engine light comes on , service traction control message, all for about 1 mile, Then truck straightens out and runs normal the rest of the day. Took it to a dealer in midwest city ok., thinking a bad sensor or something simple.they tell me one of my lifters is bad and gm tells the to change all the lifters in the engine!!!! 2300 miles, Major engine repair! Furious with gm! I have filed a formal complaint and have a case #, waiting to hear from gm rep. I dont evenwant the truck now for fear of future engine issues! I want every penny i paid back and ill buy another brand! This is the second Chevy ive owned with lifter issues! I'm done with GM products!

I was considering buying a 2022 RST, LTD with 66,000 miles on 5.3 engine.  It ran smooth and ran like a normal 5.3 without programming.  But after researching changed my mind because of the problems associated with this engine I would have to purchase a warranty and make a payment on the truck.  If the engine fail I may have to wait for months for parts, pay additional funds because warranties don't fully cover everything it take to fully restore or replace a ruined engine.  This is what I gather from researching this issue.  Was my assessment over reaction or on point about how you guys see the situation and would you buy a used 22 GMC/Chevy truck with this engine outside of the warranty today.

I wouldn’t buy any brand of truck that close to new without it being CPO. And I would buy an extended warranty at the dealership. Unless it was such a good buy it would cover a failure with the difference. And it wasn’t my only vehicle. They are all crap shoots. Toyota and Honda in my area are certifying vehicles with 100K miles on them.
