I wouldnt say its killed.  We just have modern versions of it bored out and stroked out like the 6.2

but still the chevy 350 is a legendary motor, just like ford 302 or dodge 318 , how many hard core chevy guys had heart broken when that engine was canceled...

It wasnt. You can buy 350sbc engines still brand new from GM. It was never canceled. It is still manufactured and produced, but its a boomer engine, just like the 5.3.

You've only got 833 miles and that MPG is only double digits and you circled right over what the left digit is. What is the total average MPG on a few screens down?

6.2 for me, very happy with my choice and would do it again. I had no reason besides that's just what I wanted, I have had 5.3's in the past and had no complaints but I love the power of this 6.2.

Drove the 5.3 and 6.2 back to back and to me, wasn't a choice, had to get the 6.2.  Just all around smoother and more powerful.  Not sure what transmission the 5.3 had so that could have accounted for some of the difference.  The 5.3, at least on that truck, felt "sluggish" to me.

I have a brand new 5.3 8 spd. and a brand new 6.2 10 spd.

The 5.3 isn't sluggish at all. It has some snort.

But the 6.2 is quicker and it just has more ass than the 5.3.

When I hook the same 3000 lb cargo trailer on each truck and thats where difference becomes more apparent.

The 6.2 gets a little better mpg too. But my Wife drives the 5.3  and she's got her foot in it all the time.🧏‍♀️

5.3 is what I bought,  didn't know much about choices,  just knew I didn't want a 4 banger in my full size pickup. I wanted a red quartz with painted bumbers and v8. Choices were limited during pandemic and had to get a Custom. If had to do over probably get an RST cause I wanted a center console.

They did away with the E85 when they went from the LS based motor to the LT based motor. My Avalanche is E85 5.3.

Not true.  K2XX 2014-2018 had E85 capability.  2014-2018 it was standard on the 4.3.  2014 it was standard on the 5.3, optional on 2015-2018.

You can also add E85 on any K2 truck as well as the ECM supports adding it.  The connector for the sensor is there even.
