No sound from rear speakers

Recommended Posts

So today I realized my rear speakers which are in the doors of course are not working 09 Avalanche LT. Pretty sure they were fine just the other day cause I turned it up for a good tune but not sure, still sounds good but just HATE when stuff doesn't work as it's designed. It's only my wife and I driving this truck so pretty sure she wouldn't have done any harm.

What could the problem be? any help would be greatly appreciated.Cheers.

OEM speakers are notorious for going bad...strange that they both went out at the same time though

First, check FADER settings and make sure it hasn't been adjusted to just play through front speakers.  You can check fuses (I think they're #41 and 42 in the underhood fuse block) and make sure they're good, but if you're getting sound from the other speakers, the fuses shouldn't be a problem.  If FADER settings are set to go through front and rear speakers, it's time to start pulling door panels and checking speakers.  You can pull a speaker from front door and hook up to the rear door and see if it works.  If it does, then proceed to checking wiring going through the doors.

paper cone factory speaker and an 09 must have been its time. do you have the factory Bose amp? either way best bet would remove door panel and check speaker.do you have a multimeter? if you feel more comfortable removing the radio and checking wires behind the radio over removing the door panel you could go that route also. but if the speakers are blown might as well remove door panels.
