Hey guys and gals new here. I'm in the process of rebuilding a project that me and my late dad had started before his health decline. I am told it has a 383 stroker and it has been eating transmissions used and new. It's been in our family for almost 20 years and it was the last vehicle me and him worked on I'm tired of it being a lane decoration but don't want to keep throwing Transmissions at it. I'm seeking ideas from the geared world. My funds are limited but I'd like to get it up and running for my mom as a memorial for her and me.

Needs a built up 200R4 or a Th400 if you want it to last without much of a care.

A built Th350 works too but a mostly stock Th400 would be just as good with a proper torque converter.

How much work would I have to do to make a th400 work. This truck has a 700r4 and I've been told that some of the connections aren't the same for a 400 ie the kick down cable isn't the same for the 400
