Distracted driving is the act of driving while engaging in other activities which distract the driver's attention away from the road. Distractions are shown to compromise the safety of the driver, passengers, pedestrians, and people in other vehicles.

Thanks. You were there... On a two lane road with nobody there for over a mile in front of me. But sure, let's play post police. I bet you are a blast at parties and have never exceeded the speed limit either. Jesus.

I guess the difference is I'm not concerned about mileage.

Fixed Edited

Finance was tossed out of the curriculum in favor of golf & aids awareness. 😉

Peeps obsess about fuel economy to "save money" but never consider how much they waste in constantly eating out.

I'm thinking if you tried to offer that persuasive and well thought out excuse to your insurance company they would still cancel your policy.

Great. I'll remember that if I am ever involved in a single car accident with nobody around for two miles. (eyeroll)

It’s funny what people will jump on and assume that people are distracted. I rode with a person I was training who could text on his phone without looking. I didn’t even know for awhile. He was using his left hand down by his knee, he glanced so often at the reply never taking his eyes off the road. During the super bowl my kids were texting while eyes glued to the TV screen. Multi tasking is nothing to them. It’s probably more distracting eating and drinking while driving for them. By the way can get a ticket in some areas eating and drinking while driving. Ok back to nick pickers.

That pretty much sums it up.  Also, if I can save $50 to $100 with virtually no effort, I’m in for that.  I’m retired, I have plenty of time.

Most of the time I drive near home in suburbia.  Not much I’m willing to do different on those roads - typically 40 to 45mph speed limits.  And no, I didn’t expect a truck to get good gas mileage, but I didn’t think gas would get this high this quick.  I don’t drive enough to care, but it still hurts a bit going over $80 on a fill up.  Still, I love my truck and have no plans to get rid of it anytime soon.

You didn’t think gas would get this high this quick? What did you think was going to happen with the Alzheimer’s patient that is the President??

I honestly just wasn’t thinking about it.  If asked, I’m sure I wouldn’t have said it was going down but I don’t think anyone saw this coming.  Of course, once the war became clear all bets were off.

Oil is going to still cost us more because we are no longer prohibited by U.S. law from selling our oil outside the country and there are wealthier nations willing to pay more. Same thing with Mexico and tequila, the dollar is a lot more appealing than the peso so the distillers hardly have any good tequila left in Mexico. We had a shortage about two years ago and even the Costco in Tijuana did not have the Don Julio 1942 for six months!

International commodity prices dictate the value of oil, not the location.

I can deal with gas going up. Luckily my company provides a fuel card for me for my personal truck. 2022 rst duramax. Extremely lucky I know.  But there is no way in hell I can deal with a Tequila shortage too!!!! (BTW, 1942 is one of my favorites)

Really!?!?  Man that statement right there is selfish. There are thousands of people in this country not as fortunate at YOU!  And you say that “you can deal with it because your company pays for your gas “.  Just sit back and think how selfish you sound.

What if your company decides not to pay for it anymore🤨🧐☹️   I bet your mindset would change drastically.

funny thing is I had a guy on daughters bball team say same thing last weekend….he gets a truck and free gas.  I said that could change real quick if $h!t gets worse. He didn’t like that too much, and I could careless.

As for the Tequila.  I’ll pass. Let it go to shortage.  Give me an ice cold bud light and I’m great.

I saw this coming back last year January (21) when our “Alzheimer’s patient “ closed down the pipeline in North Dakota. I told my mom and stepdad to start saving money for the next 2 summers for lake house because the jet-skis and boat are going to cost a $h!t ton to fill.  Thank god everything is paid for.  Can’t imagine having payments on top of putting gas in them.
You will see a ton of boats, pontoons, side-sides, campers, and ATVs going for sale this summer if gas continues the way it is.

Damn dude calm down. I think you took it out of context. I was making a joke about the Tequila shortage. I said I was lucky about getting a fuel card. But I drive MY truck for my job. You don't know anything about me or my job. I put mileage on MY truck to make the company I work for ALOT of money. I'm good at what o do and get paid accordingly. I'm sorry McDonald's doesn't pay for your gas. Enjoy your Bud Light and chill out.
