Fuel prices

Price per barrel dropped today around 10% now why hasn't gas dropped at the pump? When the price per barrel went up the price at the pump went up almost instant. Greed and profit.

Come November I bet we will be pumping our own oil again due to the elections coming that way they can say "look what we did to help the country's gas supply" so it will look good for them and people that have no clue will vote in their favor.

It doesn’t work that way at least around my town. I was still getting gas at 2.89 a gallon at one station until a truck came in to refill. Last week on my round trip to town and back there was a 50 cent difference between stations. Now it’s anywhere from 3.50 to 4.00$. If it goes down it will be after the next truck arrives to refill.

Around here in Maryland when the price per barrel went up the pump price rose the next day. I could see if it was a high volume station but our stations are in the suburbs and not a high volume station.

Our current administration is loving this high price fuel it makes there green deal look better and better and there NOT going to do nothing about it. If they do then it will make them like there giving in and they were wrong.

There ya go. Is it factual or no, regardless of source. I am afraid you won't, can't, choose not to understand facts. Politicians love people like you. They can manipulate your pre-conceived ideas to good results AND you feel good about having your bias confirmed.

In the meantime here in the US Corporations enjoy constitutional protection of law to make as much $$ within the law they can. If you still think Washington, Trump, or Biden can leverage the price of a world market commodity like oil, well enjoy your bubble.

I give you examples where you can here from or read from the source. Cspan, Bidens speech’s to check out. You throw out an article from an obviously bias paper and spin. You mention Biden his policies or speeches as if he is a CZAR. YOU keep bringing up politics.

Unless we live in an oil producing autocracy only then would it matter on world oil prices. Thats the point. Have you ever been able to understand another persons point of view especially if it challenges yours? You might be wrong? Is that a possibility?

World crude oil prices dropped today, we didn't increase anything here in US. As a matter of fact we cut off Russian oil imports . This is NOT about politics. It's about world commodity prices. For a site that is not political the spin to the authoritarian is amazingly accepted. I am not political, democrat, republican and some libertarians sent me to fight in mideast and guess why? Oil companies wanted protection for their NON US FEED of cheap oil. Being dependent on fossil fuels does make the US more susceptible to price and supply changes. Maybe not being so dependent on that would be a good thing. More production here in US gets sold overseas because it brings more profit but you can't seem to grasp that.

I'm done trying. Hoping balanced readers get another POV than the insular political right left one you promote.

Just to put my 2cents in, I believe both are correct, but that being said, Fuel prices have been on a steady increase since Biden took over (not just for the last 3 weeks has little to do with Russa.) There are no doubt Biden plans to shut down fossil fuel, yes in time that will be a good thing but the country is not prepared now and yes, it is bad timing because the current infrastructure is not ready for all EV s and all and any other energy alternatives. Not even close and the lack of preparation will make all pay$$$$ for it. That being said the recent JUMP in price at the pump has been acerated by greed and perfect storm for fuel manufactures, they are really taking advantage of a crisis. There should be NO argument about the Biden administrations to shut down and make ALL fossil fuels to more difficult NOW and more in future, but because lack of a plan it is shooting them in the foot like many other policies this administration is totally unprepared for. Very sad the way flying by the seat of the pants motivation. Crude oil is heart and soul of the world as everything is linked to it, not just fuel. Its not going away as fast as all think no matter what side your on.

Now the previous administration had a plan and yes maybe a bit to forgiving to fossil fuel producers, fuel CAFE agenda was put on hold and many other regulations. There is and needs to be a balance area between both that needs to be taken but because of politics won’t give in and yes ultimately shooting their self in the foot and will hit home in 2022 and 2024 come election time as inflation, fuel prices, supply chain, foreign policy, Afghanistan, Russia, China, Ukraine will not fare well come election time.

Very true. I don’t believe there’s a shortage, yet and speculation plays a part. The American way is make it affordable, easy to use people will buy. Forcing it wouldn’t work as we see now. Electric vehicles that is. And when an administrator makes it known there’re going to make it rough there’re going to back off. Produce less make more. Our government played into their hands.

12$ / gallon for regular fuel today. On the highway, the price is at 13$ to 15$ / gallon. The prices went up alot here too, and last time I checked, Biden wasn't my president. Anyways, I'm glad that i can use e85, because it is more or less locally produced (wood waste) the price is relatively stable.

Funny statement about our president. Of course with the drop in oil production here in the US causing us to import more it affects the world market. Of course you know that. Now there’s talk about bringing oil in from our ever loving friendly neighbors. Isn’t nice to fill their coffers? Nothing has been learned from our leaders. Some of them can use the money to fund human rights organizations like in the past. What can go wrong? Getting ready for my morning drive to my favorite walking park. Can’t wait to see the gas prices today.
