Upgrading screens

The 14 Silverado I'm looking at buying has the smaller 4 in screen. Is it hard to upgrade to the 8 in and where can I find one of these and how much can I expect to pay?

Is there a cheaper upgrade available? Or a more affordable aftermarket option that anyone can recommend? Also is the only difference between the 4 in and 8 in screen the size? Do they have all the same features?

Two different set ups with the 8" screen (screen is really just a monitor like your home PC). It is the HMI that gives you the bells and whistle. One is just a radio with a big screen, and the upper version steps you up to factory nav. IO5, and IO6 are the latest for the K2's.

Go to infotainment.com its 2 grand, but you get the bigger screen, apple CarPlay, free Sirius xm (it's not a trial), free weather (again it's not a trial), that also has a radar, free factory navigation (not a trial), I got mine from them and it's, from a 2017 Silverado

your better off upgrading to the Alpine 9" screen radio HMI GPS system, cheaper than upgrading the tiny radio to a factory 8"

 

 

My truck came with the 8" system, and i personally would have preferred the 4" radio, simple and reliable belongs in a truck
