Gas Water Boiler Help

First Thank You.

Been cold here in the mountains.

Boiler has 6 zones.

When more than 3 zones are calling for heat the boiler doesn't reach temp of 180. It will shut off the burner after 10 mins or so. Zones are still calling for heat. Repeat this cycle. It shouldn't turn the burner off until it reaches temp. of 180.

If 1 or 2 zones call for heat it reaches temp and shuts off burner like normal.

The other morning it was minus 10 here. All six zones were 3 to 5 degrees under thermostat temp setting. Boiler was stuck in the cycle above. It has warmed up and it cycles normal now.

Boiler is 175 K BTU input and has never done this before.

Thoughts?

does the burner automaticly restart or do you have to hit the reset?  if it restarts on its own its possible its normal operation of the system but the system is not large enough to handle the load of cold water returning with all zones pumping. it seems like it should stay on but if its a computerized system it may have a temp sensor thats acting up and causing it to time out. if its computerized there may be a way to pull codes by the leds on the control

Restarts. CG-6 SPDL Weil McClain

Ok so I reached out to some guys on a pro forum that is no diy. Here are some questions they have. If you want to trouble shoot this I am more then willing to go back and fourth.

However I have to remove myself from any liability.

My guys know there stuff, so be prepared for some questions.

If you do not mind can you answer any questions and provide pictures as needed.

Snowcamo,

Appreciate your help.

It has been cycling normal since the temps came up. It is 17 here this morning and it is doing fine.

I just checked it. 3 zones were calling for heat. It came up to 180 and the burner shut off.

I think it wasn't able to keep up with  the influx of cold return water at -10 degrees and 5 zones calling for heat.

I'm going to monitor it but think it's OK.

Thanks
