Changed leaf’s, added the helper leaf contacts off the frame, axle for dual tires to support the weight (I’ve seen 2500 wheels crack), larger breaks.
2500 to 3500 SRW capacity is really close bc tires and wheels limit capability.

Here are the numbers straight from Chevy. I'm sure the GMC numbers are the same. Now these rating would of course be for a completely stripped down work truck. On an AT4 or Denali the payload would be less because they have a lot of weight in the options. I have a fairly nicely optioned LT because I don't like leather and my payload is still a hair over 4k lbs for my truck.

a bit more research time of about 30 seconds would have given you correct numbers on the different models. A SINGLE REAR WHEEL 2500 vs a SINGLE REAR WHEEL 3500 is not a huge difference. You’re comparing as I correctly said above a SINGLE REAR WHEEL 2500 to a DUAL REAR WHEEL 3500. Big difference.

Not sure what you’re talking about. The info I posted shows both the 3500 SRW and DRW numbers. I was not comparing a 2500 SRW to a 3500 DRW. Next time maybe you should read more carefully before you respond with a smart a## comment

No, I’m pretty sure he’s right. The towing table you had clearly was showing DRW capacity. An SRW 3500 is not rated to tow a 35,000 lb fifth wheel - that’s the DRW number.

My bad on 3500 towing chart. The payload chart I posted shows both. Either way the smart a## comment wasn’t necessary.

The whole topic of the post is 2500 vs 3500. Since there are two models of 3500s and only one 2500. But as I mentioned in my original comment the single wheel models are close in all specs. 3500 single wheel puts you in CDL territory, then you might as well buy a Dually and tow whatever you want easily.

besides the 2500 HD vs 3500 HD on the door, nothing different to the eye.

OP is looking at Denali's and on Denali's and AT4's just say DenaliHD or AT4HD on the doors, no place on the truck does it say 2500 or 3500, has been like this since 2011 when the Denali was introduced to the HD line.
