Should I replace the magneride?

Recommended Posts

As short as I can keep it. I have a 2015 sierra denali i just purchased and unknown to me it has after.arket shocks on it. They have failed and now i have to choose how to replace them. I wanted opinions on weather i should put the magneride shocks which is what originally was on it, or should i put the Ranchos or fox shocks instead?? Brand new to this so any info helps.

Either Bilstein 5100's or Magnaride. If you aren't lifting it - Magnaride.

My experience has been that the Magnaride shocks are $$$ but work exceptionally well for a 'smart' shock/ride. If you don't want to spend the money the Bilsteins are the best traditional shock for the money.

You'll be spending between $1k-1.5k to install new Magneride shocks all around (depends on sales/availability). That can get you a nice aftermarket set up if you want to spend that much. To me, the Mag system is not worth the price for trucks/suvs (Corvette/Camaro is a different story). I've had Mag on my current truck (2016 Sierra Denali) and a 2008 Cadillac Escalade. Found aftermarket options that rode better. If you end up getting a bypass kit to remove the DIC error message, this will open you up to ALL aftermarket options and allow you to spend as little or as much as you want.
