32” tire rubbing on Bilstein 5100 top setting

2018 crew cab Silverado z71

275/65/r18 (32”) Rockstar 2 +30mm offset

Bilstein 5100@ 2”

Leveled using bilstein 5100 at top setting. Using readylift UCA to help with ball joint angles. Noticed that the readylift sticker has rubbed off on one side. Below shows how close the control arms are to the tire. They are rubbing while in motion at full lock based on the marks I can see on the arms. Do I have to get wheel spacers or is this not much of a concern? I know +30mm is pretty tucked in, not sure why the previous owner chose these. They could’ve been rubbing at the stock height too,  I just never noticed until now. I would prefer not to use wheel spacers so if it’s nothing serious I won’t bother. I don’t even feel or notice it while driving or parking.

I have an almost identical setup on my 2018 sierra.

2" level in the front, readylift UCA, 285/65/18....it rubs just slightly at full lock. Considering I only ever use full lock at low speed for a matter of seconds (parking lot turns) it doesn't bother me.

The inside of the tires are just fine after 5000 miles so far.

Nice. This is what I was wanting to know , whether there would be any adverse effects on the tire rubbing after some time. I’m gonna go ahead and not worry about it. Thanks.

Same issue with readylift UCA, 2.5" spacer and 275/60-20. Driver side rubs at full lock but passenger side does not. Didn't bother me much but I did eventually end up going with 0 offset wheels anyway. Readylift site says that their UCA will rub with stock offset and recommends 0 offset wheels.

Yea strange choice on the offset.  Sounds like he wanted as close to factory poke as possible.

Stock 18 inch Silverado wheels are +24mm offset but are 18x8.5.  If those are 18x9 with +30mm offset, the width of the wheel and the tire, as well as the offset combined might be what's causing the closeness.  A stock 265/65R18 would be close still but clear more.

I have 275/65r18's (+24 offset) on stock suspension and the tires rub on the upper control arms. I picked up a set of 18x9 +1offset to fix the issue. I'm actually wishing I had gone with a -12 offset, as with the +1 inner sidewall is only about 3/4 of inch further out. Hoping it works 😬

My tire's measure 32.1 x 10.9 on an 8" wheel; on a 9" wheel I think they measure 11.3? Roughly 3/8 wider.

Makes sense. I strongly feel that these tires were already rubbing the control arms at stock height. Sucks that new wheels are so much money. I’ll probably get a 0 offset wheel down the road.

Just to confirm, the +1 offset now clears the control arms, correct?

Yea I agree. They actually don’t look bad on the truck as is. I was surprised to learn they were +30mm. Feels like I don’t see that high of a positive offset offered on new 18” wheels, so I guess it’s uncommon.

I don't have them on the truck yet, but yes they should clear.

I was just concerned because with my specific tire they end up a bit wider then most other 275/65r18's.

I also think it would have looked great having pocket flares on wide track, stock height truck. +1 offset doesn't quite take it out far enough that it gives the stance I want.

Did you ever end up getting the +1 offset wheels on your truck? And did it stop the rubbing? I’m actually looking into new wheels and I want to get a 0 offset (+1 mm is basically 0). Just wanna confirm it helped before I pull the trigger. Personally I am more of a fan of the “flush” look which is why I’m aiming for 0.

No, I haven't yet. I don't drive it much and the roads are a mess loaded with salt. Chassis doesn't need any more help turning to Swiss cheese.
