As long as you are able to pay off the note on demand there is certainly no problem with that. The only peeps that truly suffered during the Great Depression were the ones living on credit.

We qualified for a home 3X more expensive than we bought but I limited our ceiling to 1/3 that in anticipation of:

1.) Loosing 2/3 of our income...a possibility over a 30 year note. It seemed to happen with regularity over history.

2.) Paying the mortgage off as rapidly as possible to dodge reason #1. Payed it off in seven years.

3.) Saved 200 K in interest payments far exceeding investment income and over and above tax savings of holding mortgage debt.

I hold this same idea buying anything else. Can I afford a $100K pickup? Today I can. Tomorrow, who knows. But instead I bought a lightly used one year old thousand miles on the odometer 1WT for LESS THAN one fifth that cost. No payment and a new truck! Then took the "payment" money and invested that.

Proverbs 22:7

A rich man rules over poor men, and a borrower is slave to a lender.

And what did I give up?

Things that break and are expensive to repair.

:wtf:

Even this lowly 1WT has features I don't use, don't know how to use. Have no interest in learning how to use AND still finding features after 6 years I never knew it had. Telescopic sun visors?? Who knew, right?

If you can make $80K on a $19K investment in six years your peddling something illegal.

😱

Anyone like the new custom front vs the 19-21? I like it better but yes painting a couple of things would have made this work truck look better

I prefer the '19-21 painted body color, looked more like a budget RST. Dislike the '22 black plastic molded grille, and the new style looks "pinched" in the middle.

If I could put one on a shelf and just look at it a painted nose would be great. But the 1WT black plastic nose on my 2015 has proved to be extremely durable and good looking. Cerakote keeps the white moss looking type fade away. I would expect that would be true for the new models too, don't you think? That's a 6 year old 150K mile highway nose there.

This routine again. Offer it only in a trim nobody wants, and then wonder why it didn't sell...

I mean, honestly it's the same BS with the long bed.  Some people want a single cab 8 ft bed truck with "features".  Thanks, GM, for making that not possible.  Not everyone wants one just for a "work truck".  GM really has their head up their...you know...with some of these decisions they make lately

Well it doesn’t even let me build a WT regular cab on the Chevrolet website for the 2022.

Anyway, I’m trying to decide between the regular cab Chevrolet or the regular cab F150. Both would be 2wd. The F150 allows me to build a regular cab, normal bed with the benefit of 3.73 and elocker. The Silverado doesn’t offer the elocker.

The 3.3 is what I would get, it’s a pretty reliable engine from all accounts. Then again, the 2.7 turbo would allow for much more power in base configuration, my only issue is, it hasn’t been out in the wild for long. The 2.7 is what I would prefer.

I’m moving back home and commute to work and back would be at least 100 miles round trip. Both would offer solid MPG in that configuration, but I need reliability.
