Sierra 1500 2018 - Service airbag - PPS module?

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

Not too sure what to do with this problem, I went to the dealership when the message first appeared saying "Service airbag". After an hour, the dealership told me there was some corrosion in the floor wires near the front passenger seat. After two hours, they told me it was "apparently" the PPS module which is used to detect the presence of a passenger which then enable/disable the front airbags. So, after two hours and 250$ later, they told me it would cost about a 900$ for the module to be changed. Weirdly, this trouble only occurs when the cold temps appear (living in Canada), which leads me to think it's a faulty connection/humidity, not necessarily the module. I've done quite a few research and this problem may also be caused by the front impact sensor, which could make sense since the truck already had a front grill and light change after a minor accident. I would like to know if someone could orrientate me in the right direction, my scanner doesn't find any error since it's the security system.

ANY help is appreciated, I may try another dealership this week if I cannot resolve the problem.
