REG CAB LONG BED HD PIC THREAD

Recommended Posts

Took quite awhile to find one when I bought mine.  Because the new thing is to buy a truck for driving around town and for family trips to the grocery store they don't stock a ton of them.  I've always had a car for that stuff and a truck for truck stuff such as pulling boat and camper as well as firewood.  Not getting an 8 foot bed has never been a consideration for me and I don't want a thirty foot long truck that won't fit in the garage.

I think the reason is GM is making a lot more money on the $70,000-$80 crew cabs than the $45,000 I paid for my 2500hd. That and the crew cabs are in higher demand obviously.

I went with a crew cab because I run a buisness and a lot of times I need 3 or 4 seats and my double cab was a little to small for 4 adults.

I had a 2013 reg cab 3500 6.0 and loved it.  When I sold it people were litterally bidding on buying it. I had listed it for 16000 and sold it for 20000. It had 110000 miles on it weirdest selling experience of my life. People always go down never go up lol.

I had a Ford SD250 with ext cab - the hinges and door latches seized up on the back doors from getting no use. As for the bed, if it can't haul a sheet of plywood it's a mini-van with cooler/lawn chair holder.

This is all I have to hold onto for now waiting on my 22 - We switched the wheels on Friday, my sales gal said she needed to know that day to change it, so that's the most positive vibe I've had since August.... Dealers rendering LOL!

My dad says the only REAL truck is one with an 8' bed. Both your current and ordered truck look nice, Leonardo. I went to crew cab for family expansion, or due to it, I should say. Did think about a crew cab with the 8' bed. I guess not too much longer than the 6'9" bed, but it'd def take some getting used to.

I feel ya Shotgun. Guy I work with in the same boat. He's getting a 2500 Custom ordered for his side biz but has a 6yo girl and they can't sit in a front seat so gotta be the ext cab. It's all about my needs just like his and yours. It might be nice now and then for travel to have a bigger cab but we have cars and suv for that. I will upgrade the new one with a brand new self leveling kit by way of the water tank for my well and pool, occasional tug of the boat and making it to work on those winter days when no one should be driving and good Samaritan work. Always someone needs something hauled. I'm just glad they made a bunch of all the things I love upgrades from my 16 and it's mostly the little things and the package config. With the craziness of trade values, with my miles? no brainer to trade. It all started when a customer of mine rolled in with a new GMC with this cherry red tint color. Then, stories of "you won't believe what they gave me for a trade" .... And last week another customer rolls in, new Denali 2500HD with these beautiful wheels - I go, time to come up with some bullsht ~ "Honey? yes? Got an email, I have to pick different wheels and tires, no supply of the code I had ordered ~ OK, sounds good"..... too many years in sales I tell ya~ Only live once and for how long? ... ~ But hell yeah, this to me is a truck, but I love em all. a world with pickups is a beautiful world.

Here's a couple working photos. Had to replace pool liner and 14000 gallons of water. 2 days, had "Red Hot" Humping it's ass off. This was the moment I said to myself, bad ass mother fkin' truck ate this task like candy from acceleration to braking and giving superior control over a larger mass was awesome. It made my day.
