Shock Hoops!

Recommended Posts

I made a start today at fabricating up some shock hoops for my truck. At first I set out to do a dual shock hoop, but after a lot of measuring and debating, I had to stick to a single shock. Since I have the RCD lift, which is a spindle type lift, the upper CA stays put, and therefore hinders the ability to mount a dual shock. Anyhow, I can run a much longer shock now, so I chose a set of 10" Bilstein 5100 series shocks as the guinea pig for testing. Once I get all the bugs worked out, I will order me a set of 10" Bilstein 7100 Resevoir shocks. Well here are the pics, I have yet to triangulate the shock hoop, which I will do so by running a small piece of tubing from the upper stock mount upwards to the hoop. This will make it stonger. I will do that another day, as I am tired of huffing on welding exhaust!! Anywho, enjoy the pics, and I am open to any suggestions you may have!

I can make some more of these for anyone with the spindle lifts, if you are interested, PM me. (cheap too, $50/pair + shipping)
