Nice to see the interiors are finally back to 2018 levels of quality

LOL, wow. You really have a bias against the T1s.

The 2022 interior looks class-leading to me. Especially since you can get a full digital cluster on LT and above. Ford and RAM aren't anywhere near that.

Plus, the 13" rectangular screen is so much more functional than Ford's theater-sized monster, and RAM's vertical layout, IMO. GM's arrangement flows with the interior so much better, IMO.

Did I say IMO?

On the video TFL trucks put out the Zr2 looks to have the exact same front upper and lower control arms as the 2019-2021's and they have the same 2" factory lift as the trail boss. The only difference I saw was the rear leaf spring pack had a few more leafs in it. It seems to me that the DSSV shocks would bolt right in a 2019-2021 truck! It also would seem to me that the factory UCA's are tougher than we think.

In one of the vids, they mention the ZR2 has a 1 to 1.5 inch higher lift than the regular TB (either 1" front, rear 1.5" or vise versa). Done to fit the larger tires than the TB.

TFLTruck said the ZR2 has 1/2” more clearance. I’d bet that’s just the tires given the TB has 32’s (which will fit in a stock Z71) and the ZR2 33’s. The TB is well known to come with smaller tires than actually fit it.

It's not a rumor.  I have a 2021 RST with the 6.2 and it's getting the same mileage, if not better, than my 2016 Suburban and my 2008 Silverado (both with 5.3s).  And does just fine on 87.

Not a fair comparison as yes the 6.2 gets the same or better mileage than the old model 5.3's with AFM  and 6-speeds or regular 5.3 from older vehicles. But the new 5.3 with DFM and 8/10 speeds still gets better mileage than the new DFM 6.2.  And the gap widens another 1 mpg if the 6.2 runs regular gas.

Yes, only 1/2" more ground clearance (as the lowest part of the truck is the usually the rear diff, and the larger tires will only give it minimal increase in clearance. But I was talking about the suspension lifts (which helps with approach, break-over and departure angles when off-roading).

I think Chevy really killed it! Love that the ZR2 has electronic diff locks for front and rear. Those multimatic shocks look awesome. And the interior is amazing, love the shifter and the new screen. Only thing I didn't like was that the driver dash screen is all digital now. I hate digital tachs/speedos and love the analog version. Keep the analog tachs/speedos and put a bigger info screen between the two and I'd have been happy. My Lexus RX350 has the digital tach and I think it's ugly and low-res. I much prefer analog there.

The improved lift is just from the 33's. That's what TFL said.

Good luck buying the ZR2.  Right now Trail Boss and AT4 are hard to find and deals are no where to be found. My neighbor was looking to buy a Trail Boss and local dealer has one in transit and 3 people ahead of him for it.

They're around. Most of the dealerships in my area (DFW) have at least 2-3 TB on the lot. None of the other trims.

People are so obsessed with power.....who cares. 420 HP out of the 6.2 is on par with the Raptor. The TRX is really just dumb...what's the point of 700+ HP? It's top speed is only 118 anyways....and the acceleration is cool, but who cares.

GM has shown that they care about function more than form. The Colorado ZR2 and ZR2 Bison are meant for extreme off-roading...not for "Baja Racing"...which no one will ever do unless you happen to be participating in the Dakar Rally.

And in that vain. The Silverado ZR2 will be more capable off road than both the TRX and Raptor with the DSSV shocks and front and rear lockers.

For one it is kinda fun to have 700 horse under your foot. Sure it is dumb and extremely impractical but it is fun. I think a lot of older folks forget that trucks don't have to be just a workhorse. They can also be fun and lavish.

That is why the TRX is popular because it is a fun truck to have.

Slow down and read the next word slowly.

TRUCK

Yea yea you can race a tricycle if you like that sort of thing. Logic trap coming.

60% of 'trucks' are off road? (capable) Z71 is an off road package.

Really?

Turn key Baja?

WOW!

Not even fire road ready.

Next word...ready?

MARKETING

So I can go into the local GM dealer and buy a turn key truck ready to take on the roughest OFF ROAD course the planet has to offer AND come off the track to a black tie affair with da wife then take the kids to school and stop a the IGA on my way to picking up the 12,000 travel trailer head across death valley to the top of Mt. Evans and do this on a tank of gas. Warranty included and free oil changes for life.

Wait!! It will do ALL this in AUTOPILOT!!

What? That sounds crazier than that reveal video?

:idiot:

It also cures hemorrhoids, snake bite and gout.

Can be use as a hair tonic and will freshen your breath.

Crows. OOOOH SHINY

$70K thank you very much.

...and front and rear lockers.

This is the true shocker of the ZR2. I cannot believe GM finally figured out the G80 is not a friendly locker for being off-road. ...and adding the front locker... wow. I'm excited to have this just to have TRUE 4x4 again, even for getting around in normal conditions.
