Here ya go... The 2022 Silverado full reveal!

Recommended Posts

I like the zr2 even though I'm thinking it will touch the 90-100k mark, especially considering gm has the ability to probably only build a couple thousand right now so dealers will be marking up the hell out of em imo. Not sure i like the new grill but the 8 year old interior has thankfully been somewhat addressed.

Interior is a very nice big step for GM. Thank god. Styling seems a little more conservative but still I like it. Need to see more pictures of other trims. The ZR2 looks awesome and is now the best off-roader when your comparing it to the Tremor and Rebel line but it looks like GM didn’t want to touch the TRX/Raptor game. Which is shame. Also I’m I seeing this correct the almighty hand built by God  2.7 is now 310/420 ? Holy smokes what a great base engine if true. Also does this mean the 6.2 and 5.3 got bumps ?
That interior! 😀

Yeah, the 2.7 is a strong base engine now. And full digital cluster and 13.4” infotainment standard on LT and up? That’s really really impressive for that price point.

Side note: The 2021 F150 just got owned not even a year after release. I don’t think Ford did enough to beat Ram let alone this very nice GM product. Interior is better, standard features are better. And even though the suspension isn’t as good as the Raptor, I’d still take a ZR2 over that horrendous V6 trombone exhaust joke.

This right here is pretty huge.  Standard on LT and up.  Others still upcharge for the larger screens and digital clusters.

Kinda sucks that WT/Custom/CustomTB keep the same interior layout as Custom and CustomTB seem to sell pretty good.  We moved a good # of Custom trim trucks, about equal to LT.

Wonder where all those women in the video put their purse when they get in... my wives would go right where that giant shifter is. Column, while it has so many haters, is the best most out of the way location for it and it doesn't take up the much more valuable console space. I would have preferred the SUV's button contraption.

Kind of like Ford making the console shifter fold away. A beautifully over-designed and ridiculously engineered ignorant solution to a problem that shouldn't even exist.

Otherwise - I'm not sold yet on the looks.

I was sad to see them add it, and I really hope they remove it on the midsize trucks as those really need the added console storage space (the current one takes so much space up it really is my biggest complaint for the current gen, especially when I switch back and forth to a full size truck). I will say I went to a design study and saw this interior prior to release, I gave it knocks on the console shifter. They also showed many future sketches of what will inevitably be the next generation interior and it had a shifter stalk off the column like you see in luxury cars or some big rigs. That would be an excellent setup. I would put it this way:

Column shift > Shifter stalk > knob/button > console shifter

So far I like what I see. Exterior wise, I do like the full width bumper with the curtains being curtailed (get it....) back a bit.  I like the lighting setup. The only thing I need to see in person is the grille cross bar being so high and not centered top to bottom (my OCD will have issues).

Interior wise, huge improvement. Love the screen and the fact that the digital dash is standard on LT and up. I don't mind the console shifter as I usually only have a couple drinks, my phone and perhaps a pair of gloves in my current console. I do like the wireless charging design where it slides down under the center console storage area, out of the way and it won't slide all over when braking.  I do question the knobs down on the lower left of the dash. It looks like they moved all the 4x4 and lighting knobs back down where your left knee is. They could have left them in the upper left instead of that large black plastic panel.

Bumping the power on the 2.7L is amazing, but the 5.3L needs to also have over 400 torque, and preferably closer to 400 hp to be competitive (yes, a standard 10-speed would help it in all trims).

Overall, good first impressions, but again, seeing in person will make final judgement.

Ford's interior is nicer imo except for the big ass screen. I could just be thinking of the Lightning (which is the only Ford truck I looked at, not to buy just for interest reasons) but I feel like Ford ended up with a great interior especially since the shifter folds down unlike the GM one.

Well looks like same engine output on the 6.2.
I have to believe the 5.3 has to get a at least Torque bump. Would they really allow their 5.3 to have less torque then the 2.7?
ZR2 is cool, not hating but I wish they would have made it more unique.  Little disappointed it has same engine and same body panels as every other model.  Really thought GM would bring a blown 6.2 Raptor and TRX fighter.

Wouldn't it make way more sense on every level to just make the 10spd standard across the board with no other option?

And while the gear shift in the center is modern and cool, all it does it take up space in the center console. I'd prefer to keep it column mounted, or a push button on the dash.

Very disappointed! Why not bump up the power in the V8s and atleast offer a supercharged truck. The ZR2 looks very nice and aggressive but still no sport truck??  What a bummer. Interior looks very nice but if no power increase no need to go buy it now. Kinda pissed!!

The column shifter is still standard on the 6 passenger configuration. So if you don't want the large center console, you get the column shifter.

The see more trucks on the lots with the jump seat than I do with the full center console.
